6 Summer Activities to Do With Your Baby

Published

on

Summer is the best time to enjoy the outdoor and have fun under the sun. But doing so with a baby has its challenges. Small babies cannot be exposed to the sun for long hours, and they are not always easy to please. That limits the number of things you can do with your baby. However, that shouldn’t make you trapped in the house all season. Explore these six activities for your next adventure.

1. Picnic

Picnic is the perfect solution for some fun outdoors with your baby. Get your diaper bag backpack stylish and pack essentials for the baby, and hit the road. You don’t have to go far from home, find a spot close to where you stay. You can even use the backyard if you have enough space. Find shade under a tree or umbrella and throw your comfy blanket, and have a good time. Carry your favorite picnic food and all baby provisions, especially when you are going out. It’s important to find a diaper bag that is big enough to carry everything. Then, as the baby enjoys nature sights around him and the breeze, you can unwind a little.

2. Go To the Pool

By six months, your baby would have mastered head control. That’s when you are free to take them for a dip during summer. Many community pools have designated family times when there isn’t a big crowd. So you can avoid the high traffic and enjoy some one-on-one time with your baby in the waters. If you have instructors at the pool, they will guide you on how to handle the baby in the pool. If there isn’t one, start with very gentle movements. With time the baby will feel settled and start enjoying the water. Remember to carry as much sunscreen as possible.

3. Consider Mommy and Me Classes

The baby might not get a lot from the classes because of unpredictable moods and naps, but you definitely will. Look for an activity you can both enjoy and find out if there are any available mommy and me classes near you. It can be gym, yoga or even swimming depending on what you prefer. The classes will give you a fun thing to do all season long with your baby. It’s also killing two birds with one stone because, aside from having fun, your baby will also receive developmental benefits. You will also meet new mommy friends through the classes.

4. Go To a Pet Store

There is no better time to introduce your baby to animals than summer. You will enjoy watching your baby light up with excitement while watching kittens and puppies play around. Find the nearest pet store to you and make it a habit if you want. Animals are very entertaining for the baby and you as well. Spending time with the pets will help you de-stress from all the exhaustion that comes with being a new parent. You can keep changing pet stores to explore more animals. Everyone knows how hard it is to entertain babies, but you can never go wrong with animals.

5. Take a Walk in the Park

A walk in the pack can be a very welcomed change of scenery when you spend a lot of time indoors with the baby. Secure your baby into a stroller, ensure he or she is well covered from the sun, and take a long stroll at the park. The ride is very soothing and will put your baby to sleep, but he will enjoy exploring the new world if he stays awake. Pack snacks in the stroller’s storage basket and have a spontaneous snack break during the walk. Make the walk fun for you and the baby in every way you can.

6. Enjoy a Soak in the Tub

Bathtub time is the best, especially when you don’t want to go to the pool. Let your child splash around and enjoy the warm water indoors. When the baby is energized and feeling playful, add some bathtub toys to make it more fun. Put on some music to make it fun for you as well. It’s a great pass time activity for the summer, and it’s convenient because you don’t have to go out. Also, you can use tub time as a stepping stone before taking your baby to the big pool. See whether he or she enjoys the waters and what she likes doing.

Conclusion

Make summer fun for you and the baby with these ideas. Try to get out as much as you can and enjoy different activities. There are plenty of baby-friendly facilities you can explore. When you can’t go out, find ways to enjoy indoor time with the baby.
