Douglasville, Georgia Saturday 10-31-23 – The New Manchester High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter showcased its dedication to community service and education with a heartwarming International Teacher Brunch and a successful county-wide coat drive. This remarkable event, which took place on Saturday, October 28th, was held at the Resia Tributary Apartment Complex in Douglas County, Georgia.
The New Manchester High School FBLA chapter took the opportunity to express their gratitude to the Douglas County School System’s international teachers, who have journeyed from all corners of the world to educate and inspire local students. The International Teacher Brunch served as a celebration of the cultural diversity and dedication of these educators, demonstrating the FBLA’s commitment to promoting cross-cultural understanding and fostering a supportive educational environment.
In addition to the heartwarming brunch, the NMHS FBLA chapter organized a month long, county-wide coat drive in collaboration with New Manchester High school students faculty & staff as well as other district high schools and FBLA chapters. The collected coats and cleaning supplies were distributed during the International Teacher Brunch and donated to local shelters, ensuring that families in need have essential items as the colder months approach. This act of generosity embodies the spirit of community service that the New Manchester High School FBLA chapter strives to cultivate.
Haley Ware, Secretary and Public Relations Chair of the New Manchester High School FBLA chapter, emphasized the chapter’s commitment to service and the value of giving back. She stated, “Our chapter is driven by the belief that service is not just an obligation but a meaningful way to connect with our community. Honoring our international teachers and supporting our neighbors through the Brunch and coat drive is a testament to our dedication to making a positive impact.”
The International Teacher Brunch and county-wide coat drive are just two examples of the New Manchester High School FBLA chapter’s commitment to making a difference in the community. Through these initiatives, the chapter aims to strengthen bonds within the school and the broader Douglas County area while recognizing the vital contributions of international teachers.
